DM Entry: New Spells

The following spells have been added to the Libram of Magic III.pdf and uploaded to the google drive. Download it for the most recent version of this document.

Undispel
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 5, Wizard 5
Components: V, S, Special
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft + 10 ft/level)
Target: Dispelled magic effect
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
With this spell, you attempt to restore a spell or spell-like ability that has just been dispelled within the last round (regardless of whether or not the spell is arcane, divine, or even on your spell list).          You make an undispel check (1d20 + your caster level, maximum +15) against the dispelled spell. The DC for this undispel check is 11 + the spell’s caster level. If you succeed on a this check, that spell is undispelled; if you fail, that spell remains dispelled. Provided that it had duration remaining, an undispelled spell resumes immediately with all its former attributes.
This spell does not work on spells with a duration of instantaneous, or spells with a duration listed as concentration unless it lists additional time after concentration ceases, as long as it had time remaining when it was dispelled. This spell also does not work on spells that have been discharged or dismissed by the original caster.
Special Components: On a successful undispel check, you must supply any unusual or expensive material and focus components (such as “a hair from a living wolf” or those that have a value of at least 1 gp). You must also spend the same amount of xp as the undispelled spell required (if any). For example, if you successfully undispelled a commune spell, you must expend a vial of holy  or unholy water (worth 25 gp) and spend 100 xp.

Undispel, Greater
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 7, Wizard 7
Range: Long (400 ft + 40 ft/level)
This spell functions like undispel, except that the range is Long rather than Medium, the maximum caster level on your undispel check is +25 instead of +15, and the spell can have been dispelled for up to 1 round per 4 caster levels. Unlike undispel, greater undispel can also restore a spell that was dismissed by its caster.
Additionally, if the spell ended because the duration expired (rather than being dispelled), you can restore it for one round with a successful undispel check.

Undispel, Lesser
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 3, Wizard 3
Range: Close (25 ft + 5 ft/2 levels)
This spell functions like undispel, except that the range is Close rather than Medium, and the maximum caster level on your undispel check is +8 instead of +15.

Undispel, Superb
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 9, Wizard 9
Range: Long (400 ft + 40 ft/level)
This spell functions like undispel, except that the range is Long rather than Medium, the maximum caster level on your undispel check is +30 instead of +15, and the spell can have been dispelled for up to 1 round per 2 caster levels. Unlike undispel, superb undispel can restore a spell that was dismissed by its caster, and can also restore a spell that was discharged (as long as it otherwise had duration remaining before it was discharged), effectively resetting its discharge parameters.
Additionally, if the spell ended because the duration expired (rather than being dispelled), you can restore it with a successful undispel check with a duration equal to its original duration.

Spells with durations of instantaneous can be repeated, and spells with durations of concentration (but not spells with concentration plus additional time) can be undispelled with a new duration of 1 round.

DM Entry: Meerthan's Telepathic Bond

A telepathic message from Meerthan:

Heroes of Cauldron, I have taken the people to safety, at the Temple of St Cuthbert. Some of the clergy here are attending to the people. I'm calling an emergency town meeting here at the temple. We need your immediate aid here and I have supplies for you. Come at once. And bring anyone that was wounded or killed with you for the clergy to attend to.

DM Entry: Tulsa Dungeons & Dragons (yahoo group)

I have created a new yahoo group called Tulsa Dungeons & Dragons.
Back in the day, I used to be one of two people who controlled the old D&D in Tulsa and Surrounding Area yahoo group (which has about 100 members).
This was a great place to discuss D&D and meet new people and new groups.
So I started a new one in an effort to do just that again.
You are welcome to join the group, Tulsa Dungeons & Dragons.

While this blog is for posting "in character" journals for your character, the yahoo group is for "out of character" D&D discussions.

ECL 13: Fate Norbard: (wild) human duskblade 13: Shackled City: Journal Entry 12

Awakening in the church of Kord  I make a note to myself to be more cautious of what I do and how I do it. Then we went right back where it happened to finish the job that we were given. (All though we aren't getting paid for this job.)  We move thought the dungeon quickly now that we know how to get around those doors.
We come to a door with pillars around  the doorway. Osiris thinks that there is something very powerful behind that door; I agree with the powerful wizard for he has the knowledge of many things. As we cast spells to increase our chances to defeat whatever is behind that door, I look at the painting of Cauldron burning. I imagine people screaming, houses burning, and people being deceived by what they thought was a trusting and safe city. Closing my eyes I remember my parents being decapitated right before my eyes and then those fiends burning down my house the I had grown up in for the first handful of years in my life. As I reopen my eyes I know that this is what I was born to do with my life. The city of Cauldron is going to have a demon fighting duskblade on their hands and there is nothing they can do to change that. I know that we as a party need to fix this problem that is going to happen before its to late.

Shackled City: DM Entry: Cauldron Gossip

In the last few days some things have been happening around cauldron:

* The town guard generally seem confused and disorganized.

* The relentless tax collectors have not been seen around town--anywhere, by anyone.

* Overheard in a bar: A guy down the street says that Terseon Skellerang (the captain of the guard) has committed suicide.

* Overheard in the street: No-one has seen Lord Vhalantru (the mayor) in several days, perhaps he has gone missing, maybe he has been kidnapped or even murdered. But with the city guard behaving the way they are, I bet no-one is even investigating his disappearance.

* Other rumors: People are whispering that the Last Laugh thieves' guild has left town, but some are even saying there is a house full of dead Last Laugh rogues that the city guard refuse to deal with.

* The general feel about the citizens of Cauldron is that it seems to be on the verge of social anarchy, like its just waiting for that last spark to light the fuse. Something in the air just seems--electric, things just seem a bit off, like its a full moon, but its not even a full moon right now.

Schakled City: ECL 14 Osiris Eloah Elf Generalist Wizard: Entry 35

At last! as I have suspected all along my suspicions have become reality. A truly evil power has been controlling the city all along, a Beholder! What I can’t put my finger on is actually how long that facade had been going on. Since it’s better to error on the side of caution, I have no choice but to conclude that it has been since the very beginning! With little time to relax, my comrades and I are ready to get to the true bottom of things.

DM Entry: Myaruk's Journal: My Scrying Eyes

This otherworldly land about my lord's citadel hast lain tranquil since my lord came into control of this layer of the Abyss, until now. My scying eyes have seen it, it hast appeared to me within mine magical sight beyond sight, that which dost lurk at the borders of my lord's domain. At its first appearance, I scarcely even gave it any thought. It was nothing, a black shapeless form, perhaps an inane shadow I had thought. As my scrying routine brought me back to the border, some days later, and from time to time, to this same location on the border of my lord's domain, the shadow--as it were not actually a shadow, but something of enormous evil lurking, discovering, learning--would be in different places. One might think it wast only a shadow, the thing which I detected with my scrying eyes, had I not kept the routine of scanning the land about my lord's domain. But now I have confirmation, solid evidence that it is something sinister, dark, and intelligent. Thus I have taken it upon myself to begin mapping my lord's domain, and thus it hast come to my attention, through the routine of my scrying eyes, that my lord's domain has been growing smaller, the borders of which are not as far away from my lord's citadel as they once were. Perhaps one not as thorough as myself would have missed such a slight detail. The change, afterall, such as it is, is less than the diameter of a single gold coin. But it does exist nonetheless. And that thing, that which lurks beyond the borders hast a lust, a hunger as it were, for the land about my lord's domain. My servants have gone about, inspecting, gathering information, and have consequently discovered that this enormous evil presence is one of the old ones, one of the lords from before--a ruler of the Abyss from before the children of Tanar took to power. This shadowy obyrith lord, that which I discovered with the routine of my scrying eyes, that which lurks beyond the borders of my lord's domain, it waits, studying, waiting to indulge its insatiable hunger.

Schakled City: ECL 14 Osiris Eloah Elf Generalist Wizard: Entry 34

So many creatures at Rhiavadi's mansion, I don't trust anyone in town. I feel that we are getting closer every second to figuring out who or what is truly controlling the town behind the scenes.

XERXES-CL3 LOCK8 DISCIPLE1-OCIPITUS1 ECL 13

HAD TO SAVE ANOTHER FUCK UP TODAY...... JOINED A GROUP OF IDOITS .
AS ALWAYS ELDRITCH BLAST SORTS OUT MOST ISSUES
THE GUY WERE WORKING FOR SEEMS KINDA SHADY .
IM BECOMING MORE UNSTOPABLE DAY BY DAY.
IS THERE NO LIMITATIONS ON MY AUTHOR-I-TY ...THE WORLD SHALL FIND OUT

ECL 11: Fate Norbard: (wild) human duskblade 11: Shackled City: Journal Entry 11

When we killed the Doppelganger that was trying to act as Osiris, I thought that we were done with Doppelgangers but then we went to Rhiavadi's mansion and find out that almost the whole town is run by evil vampires, Doppelgangers, and other things that I quite can't remember. Then we ran into another Doppelganger that has taken over the governor. When we attacked him he teleported away and most likely has informed Rhiavadi and every other evil person in the town. They are probably waiting outside the front door of the governor's mansion. They have already sent assassins after us then a Doppelganger; This is getting out of hand, we should take care of Rhiavadi and her "crew" before something bad happens to the party.
