DM Entry: New Spells

The following spells have been added to the Libram of Magic III.pdf and uploaded to the google drive. Download it for the most recent version of this document.

Undispel
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 5, Wizard 5
Components: V, S, Special
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Medium (100 ft + 10 ft/level)
Target: Dispelled magic effect
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No
With this spell, you attempt to restore a spell or spell-like ability that has just been dispelled within the last round (regardless of whether or not the spell is arcane, divine, or even on your spell list).          You make an undispel check (1d20 + your caster level, maximum +15) against the dispelled spell. The DC for this undispel check is 11 + the spell’s caster level. If you succeed on a this check, that spell is undispelled; if you fail, that spell remains dispelled. Provided that it had duration remaining, an undispelled spell resumes immediately with all its former attributes.
This spell does not work on spells with a duration of instantaneous, or spells with a duration listed as concentration unless it lists additional time after concentration ceases, as long as it had time remaining when it was dispelled. This spell also does not work on spells that have been discharged or dismissed by the original caster.
Special Components: On a successful undispel check, you must supply any unusual or expensive material and focus components (such as “a hair from a living wolf” or those that have a value of at least 1 gp). You must also spend the same amount of xp as the undispelled spell required (if any). For example, if you successfully undispelled a commune spell, you must expend a vial of holy  or unholy water (worth 25 gp) and spend 100 xp.

Undispel, Greater
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 7, Wizard 7
Range: Long (400 ft + 40 ft/level)
This spell functions like undispel, except that the range is Long rather than Medium, the maximum caster level on your undispel check is +25 instead of +15, and the spell can have been dispelled for up to 1 round per 4 caster levels. Unlike undispel, greater undispel can also restore a spell that was dismissed by its caster.
Additionally, if the spell ended because the duration expired (rather than being dispelled), you can restore it for one round with a successful undispel check.

Undispel, Lesser
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 3, Wizard 3
Range: Close (25 ft + 5 ft/2 levels)
This spell functions like undispel, except that the range is Close rather than Medium, and the maximum caster level on your undispel check is +8 instead of +15.

Undispel, Superb
Universal
Level: Sorcerer 9, Wizard 9
Range: Long (400 ft + 40 ft/level)
This spell functions like undispel, except that the range is Long rather than Medium, the maximum caster level on your undispel check is +30 instead of +15, and the spell can have been dispelled for up to 1 round per 2 caster levels. Unlike undispel, superb undispel can restore a spell that was dismissed by its caster, and can also restore a spell that was discharged (as long as it otherwise had duration remaining before it was discharged), effectively resetting its discharge parameters.
Additionally, if the spell ended because the duration expired (rather than being dispelled), you can restore it with a successful undispel check with a duration equal to its original duration.

Spells with durations of instantaneous can be repeated, and spells with durations of concentration (but not spells with concentration plus additional time) can be undispelled with a new duration of 1 round.
