Shoemowetochawcawe finished tying up the two prisoners and walked back out to the cliff edge. Behind him he heard Osiris and Korinth dueling again in the way that wizards and clerics seemed to like best: seeing who could come up with the most obscure facts. This time they were trying to outdo each other on details of the civilizations that inhabited these tunnels centuries ago. The founders of Cauldren had apparently taken over this mountain from the dwarves, who had taken it over from some eel people, who must have taken it over from....
... and on and on. Shoat smiled. There was a time for talk, and there was a time for action!
He studied the layout of the winch, the ropes leading down into darkness, and the rickety old gondola cage, and he leaped quickly to action!
He carefully climbed the ramp leading to the gondola, making sure to keep both hands on the guard rails at all times. Then he sat quietly in the gondola seat, observing all safety regulations, and waited to be slowly and prudently lowered down to the next level.
